Responsibilities:
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Senior Building Services Engineer to join our EMEA team, located in Frankfurt, Germany.
In this role, you will work independently on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Director of Building Services.
Additional Responsibilities
* Responsible for all HVAC, black utilities, public health services, building management systems, environmental monitoring systems, and fire protection systems.
* Assess the requirements of a project, break the project into tasks, and work with the Project Managers / Director of Building Services to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.
* Writes scope of work documents for Mechanical Building Services design based on preliminary review meetings with the client.
* Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyses the operation of existing systems.
* Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes/regulations.
* Check progress of work and alert the Project Manager of scope changes or the need for additional services.
* Reviews contractor technical bids and applications for payments.
* Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
* Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and the scope of the project.
* Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions.
Qualifications:
* 8 years' experience in the design of BioPharma facilities and associated utilities for the cGMP production of biological and pharmaceutical drugs.
* A BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting.
* General knowledge of system design and applicable Building Services codes and standards.
* Has a demonstrated ability to manage projects, problem solve, communicate effectively to all key personnel, and time.
Preferred Qualifications
* A knowledge of clean utility systems.
