				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Senior Architect to join our Architecture team in either our Albany, NY; Rochester, NY or Buffalo, NY office.

Our team of talented and creative architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out, renovations and adaptive reuse projects. Our markets include commercial development, warehousing, pre K-12 and higher education, science and technology, municipal and public works agencies, offices and corporate facilities, and retail and food.

Our in-house team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and planners skillfully balance design constraints with the clients' needs and desired outcome. This creates collaborative, dynamic and timeless designs. Our professionals also provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design; programming, corporate branding, standards integration, workstation specification, facilities and construction management support, energy solutions, and LEED certification. We take pride in delivering results that are innovative, sustainable and award winning.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborates with colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary and collaborative design culture.
* Assist programming and planning.
* Concept design o Detailed design working with project team.
* Manage and lead A/E design team.
* Communicating with clients and building/maintaining those relationships.
* Engineering coordination.
* Problem-solving for design solutions.
* Code analysis and research.
* Materials and products analysis and research.
* Specification writing.
* Prepare and coordinate construction documents.
* Surveying onsite work at client facilities.
* Coordinates all communication between the client and CED.
* Delivers clear and timely feedback/communication to the project team.
* Monitors the performance of the project team and approach, to ensure that CED's quality standards and design goals are met.
* Participates in regular project-related meetings including client, internal team and consultants' meetings.
* Considers risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues.
* Completely integrates the design and technical aspects of a project.
* Has direct contact responsibility with clients and associated consultants, to ensure timely collections and management of delinquent accounts receivables.
* Ensures the orderly and complete preparation, distribution and retention of all project written records.
* Understands design philosophies, overall building design concepts, design software and delivery methods.
* Understands and responds to the technical implications of design decisions.
* Assists Project Managers to establish scope of work and services for the project including schedule and work plan.
* Assists in client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules and contracts.
* Behaves consistently with integrity, trust and commitment.
* Promotes the office culture and studio mentorship within the office.

Qualifications:

* 8+ years of experience serving governmental clients on civic and public works facilities.
* Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience as required to maintain licensed architect status.
* Architecture Licensure (NY) Required. NJ & CT a plus.
* LEED accreditation preferred.
* Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
* Must have the ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team and client is essential.
* Willingness to mentor team members on technical and professional skills.
* Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
* Versed in developing qualifications and fee proposals.
* Experience with or strong interest in business development and interview activities.
* Project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects.
* Willing to travel on occasion to client sites and meetings, and conferences.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $85,000 to $116,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
