Responsibilities:
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architect interested in joining our growing, industry-leading team in Manchester, UK.
Our designs shape breakthrough strategies that yield advantageous solutions to support each client's specific applications and business objectives. We identify opportunities to streamline production and maximize the efficiency of facility operations using the latest in 3D & BIM modeling and virtual reality, combined with our deep knowledge of industry trends, regulatory environments, and manufacturing processes.
In this role, you will oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on specialized designs for our various pharmaceutical clients and their facilities, which could include Biologic, Vaccine, API (organic synthesis), oral (OSD), and parenteral (Aseptic) drug products.
Additional Responsibilities
* Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with the Project Managers to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing.
* Correct and update design documents, develop solutions to design problems, and review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company, regulatory agencies, and production standards.
* Provide oversight for Architectural construction administration activities such as preparing bulletins, construction sketches, submittal review, and RFI responses, as well as performing on-site observations and field support when called upon.
* Attend job and construction meetings and participate in the coordination of work.
* Develop Conceptual and Preliminary "BOD" write-ups based on client meetings and ensure project specifications are delivered with company quality standards and are delivered on time as required by the clients by coordinating the architectural design work with related engineering disciplines.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree.
* 8+ years of architectural experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Architectural Registration (RA).
* NAAB Accreditation.
* AIA/NCARB Membership/Accreditation.
* Life Sciences industry experience, including planning, designing, and construction of a diverse range of engineering projects.
* Ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts.
* Knowledge of building and zoning codes and is capable of interpreting project specifications.
* Proficiency in the use of Autodesk Revit and a general understanding of BIM workflows.
* Experience and knowledge of process, mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection system design, and how these systems integrate into architectural design.
* Possess a general understanding of BIM workflows and experience in Revit.

* The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
