				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a passionate, driven, and resourceful Senior Accountant to join our team! This position requires a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, innovative thinking to drive creative solutions and has demonstrated knowledge in various aspects of the monthly accounting cycle. The ideal candidate will be able to proactively identify process improvements, embrace technology to automate/streamline tasks and build strong positive relationships through effective communication skills.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and work closely with other members of the accounting team to provide hands-on support to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization's accounting and reporting functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accounting close, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset management, variance analyses, ad hoc reporting, and support of audit and outsourced tax filing activities.

Please note that if you live within a reasonable commute to a Colliers Engineering & Design office, this role will follow a hybrid work schedule. You'll have the opportunity to work both in the office on designated days and from home on others, offering a great balance of collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:

* Prepare journal entries, variance analyses, and support of month-end close process and financial reporting activities.
* Develop financial schedules and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Research differences and proactively ensure complete and timely resolution.
* Ensure SOX compliance including preparing supporting documentation, obtaining management approvals, appropriate coding and posting into ERP.
* Complete or collaborate with 3rd party, regarding the monthly/quarterly sales and use tax, business personal property tax and quarterly income tax filings.
* Assist with the corporate premises and equipment lease database, update capitalization schedules and prepare entries in accordance with ASC 842.
* Ownership of fixed asset accounting activities.
* Provide support for quarterly/annual financial statements and overhead audits.
* Assist with State Department of Transportation Indirect Cost Rate annual submissions.
* Support M&A/Due Diligence and/or system integration activities, as needed.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field required.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* 5+ years related experience in general ledger, financial reporting and account analysis required at senior accountant level.
* ERP experience preferred BST, Deltek and Fixed Asset software.
* Microsoft Office project suite experience required as well as knowledge of critical Excel functions (V lookups, Pivot tables, Macros).
* Ability to effectively multi-task in a dynamic environment, exercise critical thinking skills and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
* High attention to detail and proven organization skills.
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
* Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the company.
* Strong process improvement mindset and an eye for automation using best practices and technology.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $78,000 to $106,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
