Are you a seasoned accounting professional ready to lead cross-functional projects and contribute directly to strategic financial decisions? Join our dynamic team as a Senior Accountant (Accountant 3) and play a key role in shaping the financial health of a mission-driven healthcare system.
In this critical role, you'll operate with limited supervision and bring both your technical expertise and leadership abilities to a highly collaborative environment.
What You Can Expect
* Lead with Expertise: Perform complex accounting assignments that require deep theoretical knowledge and diversified experience.
* Drive Efficiency: Analyze current accounting procedures and implement more effective practices to streamline operations.
* Mentor & Collaborate: Provide support and guidance to staff accountants and manage cross-functional teams across finance projects.
* Financial Insights: Work with finance business partners to identify and explain financial variances from established trends.
* Executive-Level Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial reports for internal leadership and board members.
* System Integration: Record monthly consolidating entries for multiple health system entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
* General Ledger Mastery: Utilize your solid understanding of general ledger structures to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelors degree
* Experience: Four (4)+ years' relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
* CPA or MBA
Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, the Accountant 3, performs accounting assignments requiring diversified experience, theoretical knowledge and skill.
* Provides financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
* Analyzes current accounting procedures and recommends and implements more efficient procedures when necessary.
* Plans, develops, coordinates and directs detailed phases of an accounting function and conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
* May complete or assist in the completion of the employee evaluation process, counsel employees and/or recommend initial discipline and other personnel decisions.
* Resolves problems using advanced knowledge of procedures and policies.
* Manages the planning and direction of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger account.
* Performs difficult and complex work requiring independent judgment and practical application of advanced accounting theory.
* Provides functional and technical direction to other staff members.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
