As a Security Professional - Access Control - Weekdays in Melville, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more.
As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in supporting a secure environment at a healthcare location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned areas. By maintaining a visible presence, you help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence for staff, patients, and visitors. You will also respond to alarms, assist with emergency situations, and use computer or tablet systems to document your activities. What You'll Do:
* Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
* Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
* Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
* Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
* Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and control access to the healthcare location, verifying credentials and authorizations of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
* Assist visitors, patients, and staff with directions and information as part of providing customer service while following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
* Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
* Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential security-related concerns.
* Document observations and report any unusual or suspicious activity in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
* Support emergency response activities as needed, maintaining communication with appropriate personnel and following instructions from site leadership.
What We're Looking For:
* Availability across various days and shifts
* Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
* A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
* Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
* CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
* Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
* Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
* Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
* Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
