Responsibilities: As a Security Officer - Utilities Entry Access in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional, you will play a key role in access control at a utilities location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do: * Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and visitors. * Observe and report any suspicious activities or security-related incidents within the facility and perimeter. * Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with access-related inquiries and procedures. * Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols. * Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or activities. * Follow site-specific policies and procedures established for the utility environment. * Support emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and client protocols. Minimum Requirements: * A valid New York State Security Guard License is required. * A valid TSA issued TWIC is required. * Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. * Customer service experience is preferred. * Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred. * Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. * Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. * Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. * Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. * A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
