Responsibilities: As a Security Officer - Retail Loss Prevention in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff. Your visible presence and customer service will support a positive experience, while you work with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and always acts with integrity. What You'll Do: * Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed. * Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times. * Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including the business interior, exterior, and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity. * Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or security-related incidents within the retail environment. * Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and employees to address concerns or answer questions related to security-related matters. * Work collaboratively with site management and Allied Universal team members to support a secure and welcoming environment for all patrons. Minimum Requirements: * Loss prevention experience is preferred. * A valid guard card or license is preferred. * A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred. * Customer service experience is preferred. * Access control or badge experience is preferred. * Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. * Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. * Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. * Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. * A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
