What You'll Do:
* Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter environment.
* Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
* Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity, identify unusual conditions, and report concerns promptly.
* Monitor access points and common areas, verify permissions as directed by site procedures, and assist with maintaining orderly movement of residents, guests, and deliveries.
* Support daily shelter operations by observing resident and visitor interactions, reporting policy violations and/or maintenance concerns, and providing courteous assistance during routine and high-activity periods.
Minimum Requirements:
* A New York State Security Guard License is required.
* At least 1 year of security experience is required.
* Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
* Customer service experience is preferred.
* CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
* Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
* Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
* Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
* Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
* A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
