Responsibilities: As a Security Officer Patrol Ambassador in Port Jefferson, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control activity, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon08:00 AM - 04:00 PMTue08:00 AM - 04:00 PMSat08:00 AM - 04:00 PMSun08:00 AM - 04:00 PM What You'll Do: * Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a utilities location. * Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and assist with emergency response activities when appropriate. * Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions that may require follow-up. * Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and daily activities in accordance with site procedures. * Communicate with site contacts, supervisors, and/or first responders regarding incidents, access concerns, and changing conditions that could impact operations. Minimum Requirements: * Access control and badge experience is preferred. * Customer service experience is preferred. * A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred. * Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. * Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. * Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. * As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. * Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. * A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
