Responsibilities:
Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility.
* Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes.
* Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions.
* Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports.
* Log all activities in a daily log to record events accurately; complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes when dispatching security officers, and know the hospital campus to ensure those dispatched are sent to the right location.
Qualifications:
* High School / GED required.
* Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement, or military service required.
* One (1) year of experience as asecurity officer required.
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) within 90 Days required.
* CA Security Guard License required.
Preferred
* Basic Health Care Security Officer preferred.
