Responsibilities:

 As a Security Officer - 21+ Library Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and back-of-house areas, helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and professional engagement. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and document unusual activity, assist visitors and staff with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with your team. You will bring agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity to every shift.

 Pay Rate: $24.13 / Hour

What You'll Do:

* Provide customer service to guests, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
* Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, public areas, back-of-house spaces, loading areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns.
* Monitor alarms, cameras, and access points; verify credentials as required; and assist with orderly entry, queuing, and crowd flow during peak visitation and special events.
* Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disruptive behavior, lost child or lost property reports, and/or facility issues, and coordinate with site leadership and local responders when needed.
* Document observations, patrol activity, and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant updates during shift changes and with Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

* Be 21+ Years of Age.
* Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
* Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
* Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
* As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
* Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
* A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
