Job Summary
The Security Officer ensures the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors by monitoring facility premises, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies. This role involves conducting security rounds, managing access control, and assisting with emergency procedures while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Conducts regular rounds throughout the facility to ensure safety and security.
* Enforces visitation policies and screen individuals entering the facility, exercising sound judgment in granting access.
* Responds promptly to alarms and emergency situations, following fire and disaster procedures during drills and actual events.
* Operates facility paging and telephone systems; communicates effectively in person and via phone.
* Documents unusual occurrences and maintain accurate security logs.
* Investigates complaints and directs them to appropriate departments or individuals.
* Observes infection control procedures and maintains a safe environment for residents and staff.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School / GED
Experience: 0-1 years
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
