Overview:
The Mancias Lab studies critical aspects of the biology of pancreatic cancer to develop novel therapeutic approaches. Areas of emphasis are on the role of selective autophagy and iron metabolism in pancreatic cancer molecular pathogenesis (Mancias et al., Nature 2014; Mancias et al., eLife 2015; Santana-Codina et al., Cancer Discovery 2022). We are also interested in identifying the biochemical pathways and signaling networks that mediate pancreatic cancer treatment resistance, including to targeted inhibitors (e.g. oncogenic KRAS inhibitors, immunotherapy and radiotherapy (Biancur et al., Nature Communications 2017; Santana-Codina et al., Cell Reports 2020).
The lab takes a comprehensive approach to study our questions combining biochemical, quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics, CRISPR genetic screens (in vitro and in vivo), cell biological, and mouse modeling techniques.

The Scientist I will be part of a rich intellectual and collaborative environment and will have access to state-of-the-art facilities within the laboratory, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, and other top academic institutions across the Boston Area. Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform high-throughput, multi-omics profiling to identify therapeutic targets in pancreatic cancer, resistance mechanisms to KRAS inhibition, and biomarkers of resistance. In addition, the candidate will leverage bioinformatics expertise (R, Python, GSEA, Reactome, Skyline, MSFragger) to evaluate complex datasets (unpublished, already available in the lab) to identify actionable targets for pancreatic cancer therapeutic development.
Qualifications:
* PhD. or equivalent degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, with a minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral experience preferred. Industry experience is a plus.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
* Strong communication skills, with experience in preparing manuscripts, patents, and grant applications and presenting research findings at scientific meetings.
