Job Summary:

The Scheduling Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the program-wide schedule and financial reporting system for projects in a specific location/region. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing schedules and financial management reports, providing solutions for issues, analyzing project impacts, and monitoring progress. The Scheduling Manager develops a complete draft of the project CPM and then reviews and refines the draft in collaboration with the project team. The successful candidate will be able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contracts related to schedule requirements.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversees all stages of project level planning and scheduling including proposal schedules, baseline setups, and updates within assigned project/office/region.
* Manages schedulers within assigned project/office/region.
* Participates in and assists with regional and national scheduling group activities and initiatives.
* Confirms submittal schedule and ensures CPM schedule tracks all long lead items.
* Evaluates schedule impacts and work with the team on any notice requirements.
* Tracks receipts of subcontractor schedules.
* Participates in project peer review and kick off meetings.
* Analyzes scheduling metrics.
* Takes action on scheduling non-compliance issues.
* Oversees schedule system troubleshooting.
* Provides training to schedulers and project teams.
* Acts as administrator for P6 within assigned office.
* Aligns strategies with assigned project/office/regional leads.
* Participates in monthly project review meetings.
* Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of project scheduling.
* May travel to individual project sites for in-person schedule reviews.

Education and Experience: 

Required Qualifications: 

* 5+ Years experience construction scheduling experience
* Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
* Advanced knowledge and experience with Primavera - P6, Microsoft Project, & Microsoft Excel
* 2+ Years experience supporting claims evaluation & mitigation issues
* 2+ Years experience quantifying & analyzing critical path activities.  
* Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Engineering, or similar, or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Claim management experience
* Strong computer knowledge and efficiency, including scheduling software (P6 experience is a plus)
* Strong understanding of construction and general industry
* Strong written and verbal communication skills 
* Strong collaborator that works with all levels of our organization and project sites to be a resource
* Basic math/statistic & accounting skills
* Dependable and able to travel to jobsites throughout the local office geography
* Quick Decision Maker
* Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality

Competencies / Skills: 

Has advanced knowledge in

Building and Construction Knowledge: Applies building and construction knowledge, including history, customers, competitive environment, and materials and methods to build quality projects. 

Plans and Specifications: Reads and interprets architectural / structural plans and other design documents to understand the project scope, phasing, logistics, constraints, and different components of the project. 

Scheduling Tools & Software: Utilizes Skanska standard scheduling tools and technology to develop manage and analyze project schedules. 

Has demonstrated proficency in

Contract Management: Reviews the terms of the client's prime contract as well as subcontracts and vendor agreements with special focus on scheduling-specific clauses to implement the contractual requirements in the scheduling process and provides input to the project team as necessary. 

Schedule Development: Develops bid / proposal and detailed contractual schedules by defining the work breakdown structure, establishing activities, calculating durations based on estimates and production rates, establishing logic, defining critical paths, and analyzing and adjusting schedule to meet contractual requirements. 

Schedule Management: Monitors project progress by walking jobsites, gathering schedule update information from project teams, facilitating schedule update meetings, participating in owner's meetings, and communicating schedule update, reports and analysis to project stakeholders. 

Schedule Resource and Cost Management: Utilizes the schedule of values to implement cost/revenue loading and earned value processes, throughout the project lifecycle, in adherence to client's/projects requirements, and prepares reports and required analysis. 

Scheduling Reports: Maintains required standard scheduling processes needed to feed data to scheduling dashboards and reporting tools. Utilizes reports to track and communicate active project status through standard KPIs and metrics, and benchmarks against historical data. 

Has basic understanding of:

Project Planning: Collaborates with different project stakeholders to define key milestones, project phasing and sequencing, and identify schedule risks and opportunities in order to guide the project team in developing the project plan. 

Scheduling Standards: Develops and implements Skanska Scheduling Core Training,  standards and processes. Ensures national /regional compliance with established output goals and benchmarks. 

Travel Requirements: Less than 20%

Work Environment/Conditions: This job is performed both in the office and in the field on an active construction site. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment and systems, which includes average to loud noises, ability to traverse uneven grounds, and possible outdoor weather conditions. Vision requires the capacity for close and far vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripherial vision. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
