Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 400 providers and 1200 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic, research and leadership roles. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students. Responsibilities:
As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.
* Schedules complex procedures, such as infusion and/or radiation oncology, in accordance with scheduling policies of multiple departments, with attention to restrictions and parameters, such as block scheduling.
* Verifies insurance eligibility/benefits and co-pay/deductibles and primary and secondary insurance. Enter correct primary and secondary insurances during scheduling process in the IDX system, directs non-insured patients to financial counselors.
* Ensures the schedule is accurately typed, reviewed and changes made as needed. Contacts medical oncologists office prior to day of procedure for missing information.
* Clarifies division of financial responsibility if payment for services s split a medical group and an insurance company.
* Follows up on missing authorization, and contacts patients to advise on financial responsibilities.
* Documents transaction/calls in established database and follows procedure for physician referral and class registration services; uses database to research complex issues.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
* High School Diploma / GED
* 1-3 years of customer service experience or industry experience in a healthcare setting
* Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication/phone etiquette, and technical phone skills
* Computer knowledge and proficiency in Visio, MS office or Google Workspace, Email and internet, and be able to learn to use new software as it relates to the position
PREFERRED
* Associates degree in a health related field or 3 years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree
* Two to four years of relevant experience related to the core functions
