Overview: St. Luke's Health-Brazosport Hospital is located on a beautiful 25-acre campus in Lake Jackson Texas. Responsibilities: The Scheduler is responsible for obtaining schedule reservations from physician's offices or patients, complete and accurate demographic and financial information for patient pre-registration and follow-up of that information. Responsible for insurance verification, both by phone and computer, determining scheduled patient's financial responsibility, and communicating this information to the patient. Qualifications: * Ability to type/enter data accurately, ability to spell correct diagnosis, procedures and patient's names required * Exposure to insurance companies and their benefits required * Must be highly motivated to improve data quality & financial position of the institution * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals * 1 year previous experience in healthcare setting obtaining quality patient demographic info, verifying patient insurance information, providing financial counseling, ICD9 coding experience & knowledge, patient billing & collection experience preferred * High School Diploma/GED required
