Overview:
Our luxury Mexican resort is seeking an accomplished sales professional to lead the growth of destination weddings and meaningful social gatherings. This role will curate elevated celebrations that bring guests together, including reunions, milestone occasions, large family stays, and other destination events, while driving group room block business. With weddings as the core focus, the manager will ensure that the majority of attendees are staying on property by securing group accommodations that support the overall experience.
This position serves as a key ambassador for the resort, thoughtfully pairing group room blocks with event venues, dining offerings, and on-property experiences to deliver seamless and memorable celebrations. Remote placement may be considered for exceptional candidates located in select gateway markets with direct access to Puerto Vallarta, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
* Meet and exceed revenue production goals for weddings, social events, and group room blocks.
* Actively prospect new business while maintaining a robust pipeline of destination clientele.
* Collaborate with operations, catering, revenue, and reservations teams to ensure flawless event and group execution.
* Negotiate contracts for weddings, social events, and group stays within approved guidelines.
* Conduct site tours, tastings, and presentations to position the resort as a premier luxury destination.
* Build local, regional, and destination client relationships, including wedding planners and social event specialists.
* Sell comprehensive destination packages that include guest accommodations, resort venues, catering, and curated experiences.
* Drive group room block revenue, with an emphasis on weddings where a majority of attendees stay on‑property.
* Identify, solicit, qualify, and book weddings and social events including destination celebrations, reunions, and milestone gatherings.
* This role will support the Director of Sales & Marketing as well as the Director of Sales
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2-3 years hotel sales/catering experience
* Knowledge of the operations of the hotel industry.
* Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
* Fluency in both English and Spanish, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with warmth and empathy when engaging with others. Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
* Contract negotiation experience required.
* Requires knowledge of advanced sales techniques.
* Highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
* Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. SocialTables and Delphi.fdc experience preferred.
