Job Title: Safety Attendant - Emergency Department
Schedule: PRN Nights 7pm-7am,
PRN Requirements: Must work four 12 hour shifts in a 6-week time period (2 shifts during the week & 2 shifts on the weekends)

Novant Health is seeking a Safety Attendant. The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse.

Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
* Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.
* Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines. Completes a de-escalation class within 90 days of hire.
* Additional skills preferred: Ability to work with elderly patients or act as a companion.
