Position: SAT Teacher (Upper Secondary) Location: Chengdu, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, or Shenzhen About Us: Our academy was founded in 2009, and has become a industry leader in test preparation and college counseling in China. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: * Teach classes of at least 10 students / class * Provide tutoring for assigned individuals * Approx. 80-100 teaching hours/month, plus prep time * Contracted for 80 contact hours/month, excess hours are paid as overtime * Classes times vary, availability to work evenings and weekends * Lesson planning, keeping track of students' progress in class via progress reports and uploading student grades to the online system * Providing guidance for students during work time * Help to develop additional strategies for improving students' performance * Student progress conference evaluation and assessment * Training other teachers * Performing other duties as needed Requirements: * Four year degree from an internationally accredited university * Native-level English reading, writing, and speaking ability * Is prepared to commit to a one-year contract in China * Clean criminal record * Excellent physical and mental health * Must be willing to commit to a two year contract Preferred Qualifications * Previous teaching experience (> 2 years preferably) * Chinese language ability is a plus * Above 50th percentile on SAT I Writing, Critical Reading, & Math * Above 50th percentile on relevant SAT II Subject Tests In addition, we prefer teachers possessing below qualities: * Able to deliver classes in fun and creative ways * Experience of working in a multicultural environment * Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills * Highly organized and punctuality * Work well under pressure and highly motivated, with the ability to face challenges * A confident, energetic, and dynamic personality * A self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced, fluid start-up environment * Evidence of leadership potential and a stated interest in growing as a professional * Patience Salary and benefits: * Salary from CNY 16,500-21,000 (commensurate with background and qualifications) * 17 paid vacation days (including Chinese National Holidays) * International airfare to Shanghai * Sponsor Work visa and support the application procedure * Medical and accident insurance * Full arrival support and induction training * Two weeks' temporary accommodation upon arrival in Shanghai, and final city placement * Ongoing professional development and academic training * Opportunities for advancement within the company * Fully sponsored TEFL certification for candidates who do not possess one * Semiannual performance bonuses How to apply: If you are interested in applying for this position, we kindly request you prepare the following materials: * Your resume/CV * A recent photograph * Scan copy of your passport information page * Scan copies of your degree and * TEFL/TESOL certificates Your current location and preferred start date * Copies of university transcripts and relevant test scores Due to the volume of applications received, please understand it may not be possible for the company to contact each candidate individually.
