Overview:
Data Management & Analytics Developer
Business Data & Analytics
Role Summary
We are seeking a DMA Developer to support and evolve enterprise data assets that underpin revenue, sales, analytics, and executive reporting. This role focuses on hands‑on development, data transformation, and production support across SAS (9.x & Viya 4) and Oracle platforms.
The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who is comfortable working in rules‑driven, audit‑sensitive environments, partnering with senior developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and usability.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Development
* Design, develop, and maintain SAS (9 and Viya) and Oracle SQL logic supporting data pipelines, transformations, and curated data assets.
* Build and maintain reporting tables aligned to defined KPIs and business rules.
* Develop and enhance Oracle views, packages, procedures, and validation logic used across analytics and downstream integrations.
* Support SAS‑based ETL/ELT workflows that integrate data from Orion, GIDB, EDW, operational systems, and external sources.
Data Quality, Validation & Audit Support
* Implement data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and validation controls to ensure reporting accuracy.
* Support historical traceability and reproducibility of results for finance, sales, and audit use cases.
* Diagnose and remediate data issues raised by downstream consumers (Finance, Sales Ops).
Integration & Change Management
* Adapt SAS and Oracle logic to upstream data changes from platforms such as EDW, PDH, and third‑party sources.
* Implement defensive logic when upstream data is incomplete, inconsistent, or delayed.
* Partner with senior team members during release cycles to ensure integration stability.
Production & Operational Support
* Support scheduled releases, including pre‑release validation, production troubleshooting, and post‑deployment fixes.
* Investigate job failures, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.
* Contribute to operational improvements that reduce rework, technical debt, and manual intervention.
Collaboration & Documentation
* Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to clarify requirements and data definitions.
* Maintain technical documentation, metadata, and business logic descriptions.
* Work in an Agile environment using Jira.
* Use GitHub and VS Code to manage source control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
Required Technical Skills
* Strong experience with SAS 9 and/or SAS Viya development in enterprise data environments.
* Advanced Oracle SQL experience, including views, procedures, packages, and performance optimization.
* Strong understanding of implementing business rules in data logic.
* Experience supporting production data systems with regular release cycles.
* Practical experience using VS Code and GitHub for source control and team development.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
* Exposure to revenue, pipeline, sales credit, or financial reporting data.
* Familiarity with audit‑ or compliance‑driven data environments.
* Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy SAS or Oracle codebases.
* Knowledge of data lineage, historical tracking, or slowly changing dimensions.
* Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot or similar).
What Success Looks Like in This Role
* You become productive quickly in an established SAS and Oracle codebase.
* You independently own well‑defined development and support work, reducing strain on senior engineers.
* You improve data reliability, performance, and confidence without redesigning the platform.
* You collaborate effectively, ask the right questions, and deliver accurate, reliable solutions in a complex environment.
Team & Environment
* Part of the Business Data & Analytics (DMA) organization supporting multiple enterprise stakeholders.
* Highly collaborative team of data engineers, analysts, and business partners.
* Strong emphasis on data accuracy, auditability, and operational reliability throughout the development life cycle.
