Responsibilities:
As an SAP Basis Principal Consultant, you will be a key technical expert responsible for managing and optimizing SAP systems and landscapes. You will lead complex projects, ensure the smooth operation of SAP infrastructure, and provide strategic advice on SAP technology and infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP architecture, cloud integration, and system performance tuning, alongside leadership skills to guide project teams and drive business results.
Core Accountabilities:
* Lead the design, implementation, and support of SAP Basis projects, including system installations, upgrades, and migrations (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, etc.).
* Oversee the configuration and administration of SAP environments, ensuring system performance, availability, and scalability.
* Serve as the primary technical advisor for SAP landscape design and cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP), including high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
* Manage full lifecycle projects, from requirements gathering and planning to implementation and support.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (functional consultants, developers, and infrastructure teams) to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business goals.
* Provide guidance on best practices and innovative solutions to optimize SAP performance and cost-efficiency.
* Lead cloud assessments and migrations to Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms, advising on SAP RISE and cloud optimization strategies.
* Develop and execute cloud roadmaps for clients, ensuring the successful migration of SAP workloads to cloud environments.
* Provide expertise in SAP landscape transformation, including data migration, system consolidation, and optimization.
* Execute complex transformations with minimal disruption to business operations, ensuring data integrity and smooth transitions.
* Lead efforts in system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for optimal SAP application and database performance.
* Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across SAP environments (ABAP/JAVA stacks, databases, operating systems).
* Ensure SAP systems comply with security standards and policies, including data protection, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
* Manage SSO configurations, user authentications, and implement system security best practices.
* Mentor and guide junior consultants and technical teams, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development within the organization.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience with deep understanding of SAP architecture and relevant experience in leadership or Principal consultant role.
* In-depth knowledge of SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, SAP Fiori), databases (HANA, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server), and OS platforms (Linux, Windows, Unix).
* Proven experience in SAP cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and RISE with SAP solutions.
* Strong project management experience, with a track record of delivering large-scale SAP projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and lead teams.
* Relevant SAP certifications (SAP HANA, S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver) and cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) are highly desirable.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
