Responsibilities:
The Router for Transportation is a critical role in the strategic planning and coordination of transportation routes within the organization's supply chain. This role is responsible for optimization of routing processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, negotiating with carriers, and collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance overall logistics efficiency. Qualifications:
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Access).
* Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Knowledge of industry best practices in routing and logistics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field required.
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in logistics, routing, or transportation management.
* Experience with routing software and transportation management systems (Omnitracs, PCS, AS400-NTS, Samsara) preferred.
