Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated entry-level Right of Way Agent to join our Land Services team in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will reside near Columbia, SC, or Charleston, SC, and will support multiple projects across the state. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities to learn and grow within the right-of-way industry.

Responsibilities:
As an entry-level Right of Way Agent, you will work alongside an experienced project team to learn the processes and practices involved in right-of-way projects. This role is designed to be a training position, where you will:
* Shadow experienced agents and project managers to understand laws, regulations, and the processes of negotiating partial property acquisitions.
* Assist in preparing real estate documents for transportation and utility projects.
* Conduct basic property research and perform administrative tasks to support project needs.
* Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the right-of-way process with the goal of becoming a fully independent Right of Way Agent capable of being assigned your own projects.
Qualifications:
* No prior right-of-way experience is required.
* Bachelor's degree OR a minimum of two (2) years of prior experience in a related field (real estate, negotiations, sales, etc.), such as: real estate sales, paralegal, banking, mortgage, title, appraisal, mediation, social work, relocation, outside sales, construction management, or civil engineering.
* Active South Carolina Real Estate License is required.
* Active South Carolina Notary or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire (Must be a SC resident).
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with a wide range of people.
* Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Strong organizational, planning, and negotiation skills.
* Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Ability to think creatively when faced with challenging situations.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiar with databases such as SharePoint or similar tools.
* Proficient in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
* Valid Driver's License required.
* Previous real estate experience and/or experience with a Department of Transportation, local municipality, or public utility is a plus.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
