Overview: $10,000 Sign-On Bonus! Shifts: 2nd & 3rd; 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts available Weekend and holiday rotations required Respiratory Therapist Leads are expected to perform duties similar to clinical staff 80% of the time with the rest devoted to administrative duties consistent with the daily operation activities of within the department. Will be responsible for ensuring that clinical staff are assigned appropriately, assist in the hiring process, monitor and assess work of others, provide education and instruction when necessary, assist in annual competency completion, and work with other departments on committee's as assigned. Responsibilities: Clinical Excellence/Patient Care * Serves as the clinical expert as it pertains to field of respiratory care and associated information/reporting systems. * Provide respiratory care modalities, therapies and diagnostic testing; including oxygen therapies and medication delivery. * Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of services provided. * Provides education to the patient and their family. * Ability to serve in the charge therapist role as needed. * Serve as a clinical preceptor to students * Equipment and therapies associated with the care of the neonatal population. * Ability to accept assignments at the Moline and Bettendorf Campuses. * Intubation (not required, but within the scope of practice). Equipment * Process and provide various equipment, necessary to carry out assigned duties including diagnostic and ventilator support of patients both invasive and non-invasive. * Serves as the clinical expert and resource as it pertains to the operation and maintenance of respiratory equipment. * Assures that all equipment is in good working condition * Monitor equipment rental usage and adjust according to need. * Pulmonary Function Testing equipment, including but not limited to; * PF Screening equipment * Comprehensive Pulmonary Function Testing equipment * Other advanced pulmonary diagnostic equipment and procedures * Humidifiers, O2 therapy related equipment, aerosols, and pulse oximetry. * Nebulizers, inhalers, and applicable medications. * Mechanical percussors, bedside pulmonary screeners, EKG's, and volume expansion therapy. * Emergency airway equipment. * Adult ventilation (noninvasive only). * ABG procurement. * Individuals should be able to accept and perform new responsibilities assigned to the Respiratory Qualifications: Education: Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program Experience: Must have least 1 year of clinical experience. License(s)/Certification(s): * Illinois and Iowa Respiratory Care Licensure * Registered Respiratory Therapy Therapist with NBRC * CPR upon hire * ACLS/NRP within 6 months of hire *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs.
