Responsibilities:
* Greater than six (6) months experience in respiratory therapy
* Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license (CT RCP)
* Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)
Special Skills:
* Demonstrates proficient technical skills in the performance of respiratory therapies and core competencies
* Demonstrates a working knowledge of current trends in the performance of respiratory therapies.
* After 12 months demonstrates ability to take on charge therapist responsibilities as required with some level of supervision from Unit Manager.
* Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
* Establishes effective working relationships with other departments, medical staff, and co-workers; treats public courteously, tactfully and professionally.
* Performs all RT I duties & job requirements without direct supervision
This position is represented by SEIU, Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications:
Respiratory Therapist II, under a patient focused model, based on theory, practice and research, achieves a quality of technical services, based on an optimal level of health, including support of a peaceful death. Actively participates in the delivery of Pulmonary Medicine services.
