				Overview:

Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program. Responsibilities:

As our Medical Resident, you will perform professional medical duties, receiving advanced training under faculty supervision. This role develops your clinical competency and contribution to patient care, education, and institutional duties.

Every day you will exercise clinical judgment, seeking supervision as required, and meticulously document patient care. You'll actively participate in teaching, scholarly activities, and institutional committees. As appropriate, you will also assume teaching and supervisory responsibilities for junior colleagues.

To be successful, you must demonstrate a profound commitment to learning, strong clinical judgment, and effective communication. Adherence to all program deadlines and policies (residency, ACGME, Medical Board) is essential, alongside resilience and appropriate decision-making within your training scope.

* Performs physical examinations of patients, diagnoses diseases and disorders, and prescribes and administers treatment
* Performs and assists in surgical operations
* Confers with the Medical Director of Family Practice and staff members on the examination, care, and treatment of patients
* Confers with relatives of patients concerning condition and treatment
* Obtains and records medical histories, physical examinations, and progress notes on all patients examined and treated
* Makes rounds of the wards and reports on the condition and progress of patients

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Doctor Of Medicine Completion of a medical school program approved by the Medical Board of California or Osteopathic Medical Board of California and Successful completion of one year in a residency program to acquire knowledge of: methods and principles of medicine and surgery and skill in their application, upon hire
* Doctor of Medicine: CA, upon hire and
* Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
