Resident Engineer

				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently looking for a Resident Engineer to join us in Rochester, NY. Candidates should have experience with contractors for buildings related projects for NYSDOT or locally administered projects, and experience working for clients like NYSDOT/Municipal clients.

Responsibilities:

* Able to lead other inspectors or act as solo inspector for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
* Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection including pay estimates, change orders, daily work reports, quantity checking, meeting minutes, material certifications, etc.
* Ensures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
* Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisive decisions.
* Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
* Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
* Leading other construction inspectors; providing coaching, mentoring, and direction as needed.

Qualifications:

* 10+ years of construction experience.
* Valid US Driver's License required.
* Leadership skills & decisive decision making.
* Comfortable with using computers and adapting to software.
* Ability and willingness to work outdoors on a project site for extended period of time.
* Strong Mathematics skills.
* Great communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $43.89 to $57.47 per hour (depending on qualifications)
