				Overview:

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Research Neuropsychologist/Neuroscientist, supporting the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE).   The TBICoE is a branch of the Research Support Division in the Research and Engineering Directorate (R&E) of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). DHA is a Federal Program within the Department of Defense (DoD). TBICoE, known previously as the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC), has been congressionally mandated since 1992 and is currently a matrixed research, dissemination, and knowledge translation program, supporting warfighter brain health and readiness by advancing the traumatic brain injury state of the science and clinical standards.

Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

-Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

-Has knowledge of the principles and theoretical concepts of brain injury pathophysiology, clinical effects and treatment.

-Possesses general research knowledge with the ability to develop and implement scientifically sound research protocols.

-Able to effectively author professional, peer reviewed journal articles, manuscripts, research grant applications, posters and research reports.

-Has the ability to select and apply statistical techniques appropriate to the brain injury research protocols under development and/or application.

-Possesses knowledge of the administrative processes appropriate to the position.

-Able to administer, score and interpret neuropsychological (cognitive performance) testing.

-Has ability to work comfortably with computer software, including Microsoft Office and basic statistical functions. Adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Active T1 or T3. 

Citizenship:  Must be a US Citizen.

Education:    Ph.D., PsyD degree in Psychology/ Neuropsychology or a related neuroscience field and preferably has completed a postdoctoral fellowship with human clinical research experience - preferably in TBI/neuroscience. As applicable, maintains continuing education credit sufficient for both their clinical license and to meet medical facility specific Quality Assurance standards for credentialing. As applicable, will have attended a formal neuropsychological fellowship in clinical Neuropsychology and be familiar with specialized testing and assessment procedure. Current certification in Basic Life Support and applicable regulatory trainings related to Human Subjects research is required.

Years of experience:  Contingent on local research governmental and contract lead and HQ government assessment at the time of hire, will have 2-6 years of experience with administration and interpretation of various neuropsychological and neurocognitive tests and/or related physiological and/or functional TBI outcomes measures. 

Certifications: As applicable, may have and will need to maintain a current license if intending to use clinical services for research purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

Years of Experience: Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care.
