				Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join The Center for Family Safety and Healing's (TCFSH) Research and Evaluation department to assist with research projects related to family violence (e.g., child maltreatment including sexual and physical abuse, teen dating violence, domestic violence, elder abuse).

Conducts independent research within a general area decided upon in conjunction with a Principal Investigator; prepares position papers and research reports; assists in the preparation of scientific publications and research grant proposals; prepares budget proposals for conducting research studies.

Responsibilities:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

* Conducts independent research studies and analysis in a specific area agreed upon in conjunction with a principal investigator.
* Assists in the design and implementation of study protocols to be used in research experiments through appropriate hospital and research institute procedures.
* Collates and analyzes data in accordance with appropriate statistical procedures, and prepares reports, inclusive of graphs, tables, and photographs of the results of studies.
* Performs relevant case reviews to obtain medical information from patients' medical records under the direction of the Director of Research and Evaluation.
* Organizes and codes psychosocial qualitative and quantitative data and medical data.
* Recruits and interviews eligible patients and parents for family violence research studies.
* Collaborates and interacts with other researchers doing similar studies at NCH and at other research and provider institutions.
* Prepares position papers about research studies including information about difficulties encountered in setting up and conducting research studies.
* Assists in the preparation of scientific publications and grant proposals with regard to a specific area of research.
* Attends scientific conferences and gives scientific presentations.
* Performs miscellaneous related duties as required.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 

* Master's degree with one to two years of research experience or Bachelor's degree with two to three years of research experience.
* Must be able to use research methods in generating and collecting data and analyzing the data for report preparation.
* Has excellent verbal and written communication skills: Is comfortable talking with patients and their families from diverse backgrounds; Must be able to develop complex position papers and reports and help in preparation of research grant proposals and scientific publications.
* Experience with computers (data entry and word processing).
