What you can expect: 

We are a busy, fast paced 31 bed PACU that recoveries patients that have general anesthesia from the main OR, CVOR, EP lab, cath lab, endoscopy, medical imaging, and interventional radiology. 30% of our patient population is children (infants to adolescents), while the rest is adults. Generally, we staff one nurse to two patients based on acuity and age and are considered a critical care unit. 

Position FTE: 2 schedule options .5 FTE (40 hours per pay period)  - 4 (10) hour shifts per pay period. Monday - Firday.  Shifts are: 10-2030 or 11-2130 or 12-2230 for Evening Shift. Will vary based on surgery schedule. 

On-call shifts are required but minimal, and coverage includes one summer and one winter annually (examples of call times can be 0700-1930, 08-1630, or 1900-0730). The response time when on-call is 30 minutes.

Job Description Qualifications

* Education: Nursing Degree (ADN or BSN)
* Experience: 2+ years nursing experience in a hospital setting; (PACU, Critical Care or ED highly preferred)
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
* BLS required- Preferred ACLS and PALS

Responsibilities:

* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
* Manages care of patients.
* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 5+ years Med Surg required OR 1+ years RN experience in critical care, PACU, or ED required.
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
* BLS required- Preferred ACLS and PALS
