Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. In this role, you will assist with a variety of basic, low-acuity surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including general surgery, OB/GYN, endoscopy, and occasional urology.  You will prepare and assist in the surgical suite, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for each procedure. You will also monitor patient vital signs and provide support with anesthesia management during surgeries. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about the procedures, the recovery process, and any necessary follow-up care.  This is an excellent opportunity for an RN looking to expand their skills in a dynamic surgical environment while making a direct impact on patient care.

What you can expect from this role

* Schedule: Full Time Days 0.9 FTE (3/12's) with rotating on-call; due to call requirements, must live no more than 30 minutes from hospital
* Professional Development:  Cross-training within surgical services (Pre-Op, Circulate, PACU, Endoscopy)
* Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
* Patient Population: Adolescent to Elderly
* Unit Capacity: 2 beds
* Additional Pay: On-call and differential pay

Qualifications

* Education: Associates or Bachelors Nursing Degree
* Experience: 1 year of RN experience in surgical services
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice; Current BLS Certification

Responsibilities:

The Innovative Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.

* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
* Manages care of patients.
* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
