Overview: Summary: Fast paced Plastic Surgery office with a Certified Surgery Center located in Bethesda, MD is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include working in the areas of Pre-Op, Operating Room and PACU. Experience in Plastic Surgery, L&D, PACU and/or OR experience is preferred. Experience in ICU and ER would be considered. This is a full-time position with typical hours of 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, however, flexibility with scheduling is required based on surgical volume and patient care needs Competitive salary and benefits. Education: * 2yr RN or 4yr BSN are acceptable (RN's Only) * BLS & ACLS is required Responsibilities: Responsibilities: * Pre-Op patients for surgery * Vital Signs * Explaining Post-Op instructions to patients * Starting IV's * Positioning and repositioning of patients for surgery as needed * Prepping patients for surgery * Assisting with Surgeons and other OR staff during surgery * Administering IV medications * Transporting patients from OR to PACU * Recovering surgical patients in PACU * Discharging surgical patients * Cleaning of Surgical Suite * EMR & paper charting Qualifications: Skills: * Good and Effective Communicator * Time management * Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly * Critical Thinking * IV Skills are preferred, but not required * Knowledge of Sterile Technique preferred * Open to new ideas and new training * Works Independently and as part of a team
