What you can expect from this role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Colon and Rectal Surgery Clinic in Boise. We are dedicated to providing advanced care for acute and chronic health conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus, and specialize in colon and rectal surgery. Our services include advanced laparoscopic/minimally invasive surgery and diagnosis and management of colon and rectal cancer, as well as treatment for conditions such as diverticular disease, hemorrhoids, abscesses and fistulas, continence disorders, and other benign and malignant anorectal conditions.

* Full-time: 0.9-1.0 FTE
* Schedule: four 9-hour shifts (0.9) or four 9-hour shifts + one 4-hour shift a week (1.0)
* No nights, weekends, or St. Luke's observed holidays!
* Sign-on bonus eligible for new hires! 
* Certification pay (ex. OCN, CNOR, CGRN)
* Our Resource RN will support triage and provide coverage for the primary RN's when needed within the Colon and Rectal Surgery clinic
* Triage in the clinic includes being on the computer corresponding with patients via messages or on the phone

Minimum qualifications for this role

* Education: Nursing Degree
* Experience: One (1) + years' RN experience 
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross
* Preferred: colorectal, oncology, surgical or outpatient experience

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.

* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. 

* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments. 

* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. 

* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. 

* Manages care of patients. 

* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. 

* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. 

* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model. 

* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* RN's with less than 1 year of RN experience at the time of hire into the RN position must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN
* Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, CCNE -Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education)
* Experience: 0 years' experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
