Our St. Luke's Cancer Institute (SLCI) clinics are dynamic, full-service outpatient hematology/oncology treatment centers offering chemo/bio/and radiation therapies. Today we are a network of five cancer centers dedicated to state-of-the-art treatment close to home; patient-centered care and support; cutting-edge research; and community prevention, education, and early detection initiatives. What you can expect from this role
We are seeking a Primary Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Cancer Institute team in Boise. In this collaborative role, you'll work alongside another nurse, in a shared primary nursing model, to support the physician in delivering exceptional patient care. You'll play a key part in fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment while providing personalized care to patients. * Full-time (0.9 FTE): day shift - no nights, weekends, or St. Luke's observed holidays
* Schedule: 4 days a week x 9-hour shifts

* Evaluate patients and assist the physician with patient care, chemotherapy management, procedures, and care coordination
* Collaborate and work closely with an interdisciplinary team of providers, navigators, pharmacists, patient financial advocates, and other disciplines in order to provide excellent patient care
* Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding cancer treatments and management
* Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs and lab results, to develop and implement care plans
* Cross train to triage
Minimum qualifications for this role
* Education: Nursing Degree
* Experience: One (1) + years' RN experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross
* Preferred: Oncology experience and/or OCN certification
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
* Manages care of patients.
* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* RN's with less than 1 year of RN experience at the time of hire into the RN position must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN
* Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, CCNE -Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education)
* Experience: 0 years' experience
