Responsibilities:

Our Perioperative area averages 17 operating rooms, supported by three Pre-op units and three PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2 units. We utilize a team approach for both patient care and the onboarding of new team members. Surgery types performed here include Open Heart, Vascular, General, Orthopedic, Breast, ENT, GYN, and Urologic surgeries. Patient acuity ranges from simple outpatient procedures to complex surgeries for patients with multiple health issues. We provide care and services to a large regional area, including all of Kitsap County and extending as far north as Port Townsend and Port Angeles along the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
 
The Pre-op/PACU RN position is responsible for providing perianesthesia nursing care to all patient populations undergoing surgical procedures. Qualified candidates will assume responsibility and accountability for the direct and indirect implementation of the patient's plan of care in both Pre-op and PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Qualifications:

Required

* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
*  Experience with airway emergencies, (i.e. laryngospasms, airway obstruction, stridor and arrest)., upon hire 
* Graduate of ICU residency with a minimum of six months ICU experience.
* Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire 
* Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire 
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months 

Preferred

* Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire 
* Minimum of 2 years current experience in an acute, inpatient PACU setting within the last 3 years 
* Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse, upon hire 
* Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse, upon hire
