Overview:
MSA Professional Services is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Real Estate Assistant to join our growing team in Madison, WI. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for supporting real estate initiatives.
As a key member of our real estate team, you will assist in the acquisition of various real estate interests essential for Wisconsin transportation and municipal projects. Additionally, you will play a role in property management services for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT).
This position is based in our Madison, WI office and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to impactful projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Support the right of way acquisition program and other real estate activities for Wisconsin public agency projects.
* Organize and maintain project and property records, including document preparation, legal verification, and file management.
* Draft and file real estate documents such as letters, agreements, and conveyances.
* Enter and manage property data in the WisDOT READS system and other tracking tools.
* Review real estate documents and reports for accuracy and quality control.
* Interpret right of way plats and construction plans for internal use and property owner communication.
* Assist in negotiating nominal-value settlements with property owners.
* Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners including appraisers and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU BRING
* High school diploma or GED required; administrative support experience essential.
* Previous experience in real estate, legal or consulting environments preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams); eager to learn new software tools.
* Ability to interpret title reports and identify real property interests.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to identify priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, clients, and public stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to receive and incorporate feedback professionally to support continuous improvement.
* Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain Notary Public designation.
* Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position.
