Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
* In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of radiographic, fluoroscopic and specialized procedures at a technical level not requiring
constant supervision, under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration.
* Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see
identification or visitor pass.
* Image Quality: Consistently produces quality images within hospital guidelines and department standards (i.e. patient safety, repeat rate, exam protocols, film processing, inc.)
* Documentation: Accurately completes documentation according to hospital and department guidelines, including exam performed, billing, film labeling, computer entry, etc. Performs other clerical duties as necessary (e.g.
login of patients, filing films, etc.)
* Competency/Training: Maintains clinical competency assuming responsibility for upgrading skills through participation in in-service education and other continuing education activities. Participates in the training of departmental personnel and students.
* Infection Control: Assists MD and other staff in preparing for and performing procedures consistently following sterile technique, infection control guidelines and department standards.
* Workflow: Evaluates personal and departmental work volume and flow to ensure efficient departmental patient care.
* Prioritizes work according to urgency and resources. Responds effectively in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Must have satisfactorily completed a formalradiologic technology training program accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and the California Department of Public Health, Radiation Health Branch (CDPHRHB).
* Four (4) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist
* Working in and proficient in one (1) advanced modality
* Three (3) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and working and proficient in two (2) advanced modalities, one (1) of which must be CT or Mammography.
* Medical Radiographer: CA (MRAD:CA)
* Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
* Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR)
* Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA (FLRAD:CA)
* In addition to Radiography licensure, must possess and be competent to work in a combination of 2 of the following: MRI, Mammography, CT, IR
* One advanced certificate must be CT
