Overview: At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities: What you will do: * Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient in identification, reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions * Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions * Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan * Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed * Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician * Monitors patient throughout treatment process by checking video monitors and intercom * Informs physician anytime patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment process * Records each patients' treatment in EMR and proper notes for accurate treatment and set-up * Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the filed by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and education opportunities Qualifications: Education * Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program Licenses & Certifications * ARRT (T) boards completion within in 6 month of hire * BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems * Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment * Ability to manage patients * Ability to follow oral and written instructions HelloImaging ImagingNebraska #MissionCritical #LI-CHI
