What You Can Expect:

* Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift
* On call requirements: 5-6 week rotation scheduled Friday evening to Monday morning. 
* One Varian True Beam averaging 20-30 patients per day. CT Sim on site.
* Strong safety culture and continued work to maintain process improvement to mitigate unnecessary errors
* The Boise location is poised to treat: 
* SBRT, SRT/SRS, TBI, Pediatrics with and without sedation. 

Minimum Qualifications for this Role:

* Education: Associates degree or experience in lieu of degree
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities:

The Radiation Therapist uses radiation to treat patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.

-Therapists will educate the patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. 

* Therapists are responsible for the preparation of an adequate, complete, and current medical record for every individual evaluated. 
- Interpret and implement prescription, treatment plan and plan of care as directed by the radiation oncologist. 
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of radiation oncology treatment delivery, planning techniques, imaging techniques, and treatment goals. 
- Consistently maintains and operates radiation therapy equipment independently, safely and accurately and reports any concerns or variances in patient treatments or equipment performance to appropriate staff. 
- Cooperates with and assists nursing staff, Radiation Oncologist and other care providers in monitoring patients' physical, emotional and psychological status during treatment. 
- Communicates well in times of high stress for patient and machine issues. 
- Documents care based on standards of care and practice to include procedural pause. 
- Performs or assists with CT simulations occasionally. 
- Demonstrates self-motivation and the ability to accept constructive criticism to improve abilities and work environment. 
- Performs scheduled treatment chart checks. 
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment. 
- May perform block cutting. 
- Serves as a role model and mentor to students. 
- May assist in the clinical training and orientation of staff. 
- Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to system policies and procedures. 
- May be required to take call. 
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Associates degree or experience in lieu of degree
* Experience: 0 years relevant experience.
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy.
