Role:
A CommonSpirit Health Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into practice. They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas, listed below. Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient/customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making and critical thinking, and patient safety.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a
minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing; 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience; preferred Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Must meet the requirements of the year long program, including preparation work and class attendance
Must remain in a full-time position for the entirety of the year long program
Must be able to work and train on either night or day shifts including holidays
Must agree to terms and conditions of the program
License & Certification:
Active License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State in
which s/he will be practicing or the state of primary
residency if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state
BLS certification - American Heart Association
Additional certifications may be required based on
population(s) served and services provided
