At St. Luke's, our dedicated Hospital at Home team are responsible for managing staff, overseeing patient care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Directs multiple nursing units within a care area. This role works closely with St. Luke's Virtual Care Center. St. Luke's Virtual Care Center is in the heart of downtown Boise, surrounded by skiable mountains and raftable rivers. St. Luke's Virtual Care Center exists to optimize acute care outcomes through collaboration and the use of technology. The team-based model of care enables patients in our hospitals to have access to specialty resources, when and where they are needed.

What you can expect from this role
* Be a strong liaison with our acute and home care teams within St. Luke's system
* Leadership oversight for newly developed Hospital at Home program
* 15 FTE RN direct reports
* Attend all safety huddles within St Luke's system and be a critical player and influencer
* Have entrepenurial vision for future areas to support for St. Luke's system
* Autonomy in leadership
* Use cutting edge technology, including upcoming AI usage
* Full-time (1.0 FTE), mostly days, but will need to interact with night shift team, M-F, rotating week as point leader
* Continuing education scholarships - including conferences, certification, licensure
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelors' of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 7 years' clinical experience in assigned area
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Responsibilities:
The Manager of Nursing and Patient Care is responsible for managing operation of a single or multiple units based on size with 24/7 responsibility for all nursing and patient care activities to include: patient experience and consumer engagement, stewardship, culture and quality and safety. Direct reports include but aren't limited to Assistant Manager Nursing/Patient Care, RNs, HUCs and CNAs.
* Accountable for achieving evidence-based protocols, harm index, HCAPS, readmissions, throughput targets, length of stay, avoidable days, vacancy, turnover, retention, direct report rounding, productivity, overtime, expense targets, work place safety and staff engagement performance metrics.
* Provides increased leadership visibility through actively engaging in real-time patient rounding, to support coaching and mentoring of the patient care team.
* Determines the appropriate staff mix to ensure adequate resources are available to meet patient care needs, to include: hiring, backfill and training of staff.
* Develops staff and creates a culture of transparency, openness and support.
* Initiate and foster continuous improvement within the department(s). Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues and complaints.
* Identifies opportunities for improved financial performance, implements strategies to reduce costs and improve the quality of care/service and maintain a safe work environment.
* Ensure compliance with regulations governing hospitals/area/service and practice/area/ service. Ensure that policy, procedures and standards are developed, implemented and maintained.
* Communicates program priorities, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent patient experience and optimal outcomes.
* Participates in establishing and maintaining communication between ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelors' of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 7 years' relevant experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
