We are searching for a Lactation Consultant to join our team at the cutting-edge Nampa Family Birth Center!

The Lactation Consultant provides expert guidance, education, and support to breastfeeding mothers and families. They assess and address lactation challenges, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with healthcare teams to promote successful breastfeeding experiences. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, compassionate communication, and a commitment to maternal and infant health.

* Part Time Days 0.75 FTE | 30 hours/week

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 2 year's clinical experience as an RN or Patient Educator
* Licenses/Certifications: 
* Current RN License from the State of Practice
* International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities:

The Lactation Consultant provides professional leadership and advanced knowledge in the practice of lactation management.

* Assesses patient's needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes. 

* Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes. 

* Provides outpatient care, consultation and home visits for families experiencing breastfeeding difficulties. 

* Serves as consultant for physicians and other healthcare providers concerning lactation as it relates to patient's health problems. 

* Develops and leads classes on breastfeeding for new and expectant parents. 

* Meets with new mothers to assess interest in breastfeeding. Identifies issues and offers suggestions or corrections. 

* May perform home visits. 

* Specializes in consulting staff and patients on proper breastfeeding techniques. 

* Handles complex issues and problems. 

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* Experience: 2 year's clinical experience
* Licenses/Certifications:
* Current RN License from the State of Practice
* International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBLCE)
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
