* Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Monitors visitors for Infant Security purposes.
* Performs initial assessment utilizing professional nursing knowledge and skills. Appropriately assess for: a)Physical and psychosocial emotional needs a)Labor status and progression a)Labor, postpartum/postoperative and neonatal pain a)Fetal Well being a)Neonatal transition to extrauterine life a)Breastfeeding ability a)Barriers to learning a)Educational.learning needs a)Discharge need a)Age related needs a)Issues related to assault or abuse
* Analyzes patient related data, such as vital signs, past medical history, prenatal history, physical exam findings, laboratory values and other information, including age specific criteria, to determine appropriate care.
* Provides health education and teaching to patient, family and significant others, that is age specific, providing for any barriers to learning. Clearly communicates health, treatment and discharge information, ensuring the patient, family member or significant other understands all discharge and follow-up instructions.
* Plans nursing care based on priority of physical and psychosocial emotional needs.
* Implements the plan of care including prescribed procedures and treatments.

Required
* Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing, and One to two years clinical nursing experience, upon hire and
* however, the experience requirement is waived for recently graduated nurses selected for a New Grad Orientation program and
* Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
* Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 90 Days
Preferred
* Bachelors Of Science Nursing, upon hire
