Responsibilities:

Northridge Hospital Medical Center's LABOR & DELIVERY unit is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses who are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care during one of life's most transformative moments. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate a commitment to patient care excellence and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

As a Registered Nurse in our L&D unit, you will play a vital role in coordinating, supervising, and implementing patient care, drawing upon your professional expertise, knowledge, and evidence-based practice. You will have the autonomy to practice at the highest standards, consistent with the Nurse Practice Act and our commitment to providing the best possible care.

* Maintain compliance with all established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
* Utilize clinical knowledge and expertise to plan, evaluate, and coordinate patient care.
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
* Demonstrate effective nursing judgment and a thorough understanding of the nursing process.
* Supervise nursing interventions and assist interdisciplinary team members.
* Lead by establishing priorities and coordinating nursing care.
* Document and communicate all relevant patient information to the appropriate team members.
* Educate patients and families based on identified needs.
* Coordinate the plan of care with other team members.
* Communicate the plan of care to patients and families, encouraging their active involvement.
* Proactively address patient needs during hourly rounds.
* Conform to legal requirements of nursing practice and hospital policies.
*  Demonstrate a professional and cooperative manner.
* Demonstrate understanding of organizational structure and utilize appropriate communication channels.
*  Administer medications as directed and assess patient responses.
* Demonstrate an understanding of Continuous Performance Improvement.
* Supervise and assign duties to unlicensed assistive personnel.
* Act as a resource for all aspects of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
* Access the network and utilize electronic applications effectively
* Serve as a preceptor and role model.
* Collaborate with supervisory staff to identify educational and professional growth needs.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area required.
* Minimum 1 year experience in L&D required.
* Must have successful completion of an accredited/approved Nursing program that Includes Labor and Delivery which includes ACLS and PACU for C-section delivery. 
* Current certification in specialty area preferred.
* Experience with EHR (Cerner MediTech etc?) preferred.
* Registered Nurse with current California License required. Current AHA BLS card required.
* Current certification in advanced fetal monitoring
* ACLS and NRP required.
* LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire.
