Responsibilities:

Coordinates, supervises and implements patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description.

* Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
* Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
* Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
* Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
* Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
* Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
* Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command.
* Assumes accountability for decisions made.
* Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation.   

Qualifications:

MINIMUM

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
AZ RN license 
American Heart Association BLS certification
ACLS certification 

PREFERRED

BSN
Professional certification in area of specialty
One year recent acute care experience
