Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic Specialty Care Unit (OSCU)
Schedule: Full-Time, Night Shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)Location: Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital - Charlotte
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital member and leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals receiving orthopedic specialty services. The RN builds authentic relationships with patients and their chosen support systems while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
Using evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassion, the RN supports patients throughout their healthcare journey and promotes optimal outcomes, recovery, comfort, and safety. Responsibilities include coordinating care, monitoring patient progress, advocating for patient needs, and ensuring care is delivered in accordance with current policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, individualized nursing care to orthopedic patients
* Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
* Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
* Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, and discharge care
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
* Promote patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes
* Demonstrate accountability, leadership, and professional judgment in all aspects of care
Qualifications
* Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
* Commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care
Qualifications:
* Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
* Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
