Overview: $10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus Shifts: * Roating Shift - Switches every 3 weeks from day shift to night shift * Days - 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM * Weekend Package (Nights) - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers. Responsibilities: * The MICU is 12-bed unit caring for acutely ill medical patients and the SICU is an 8-bed unit caring for acutely ill surgical patients. * Nurses are trained to interpret dysrhythmias, balloon pumps, CRRT, etc, and are involved in miscellaneous bedside procedures. * In the SICU, the nurses will be required to undergo extensive training in the recovery and care of an immediate post-op open heart patient. A variety of trauma, thoracic, vascular and abdominal surgery cases are also managed. * Both units have continuous bedside monitoring in all patient rooms to facilitate accurate and close monitoring. * Nurses also manage vasoactive medications for blood pressure issues along with sedation for those who are ventilated. * Nurse patient ratio is 1:2 and varies some depending on acuity. * Annual education and competency is provided. Qualifications: Education: * Diploma from an RN program. License(s)/Certification(s): * Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state. * Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state. * Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. * Must possess and maintain ACLS *Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, internal equity, and other business needs.
