Our St. Luke's Cancer Institute (SLCI) clinics are dynamic, full-service outpatient hematology/oncology treatment centers offering chemo/bio/and radiation therapies. Today we are a network of five cancer centers dedicated to state-of-the-art treatment close to home; patient-centered care and support; cutting-edge research; and community prevention, education, and early detection initiatives. What you can expect from this role
* The Clinical Oncology Triage RN is responsible for prioritizing walk-in and telephone triage encounters to address presenting symptoms with focused assessments, management, patient teaching, and coordination of patient care needs, in consultation with providers, key team members, and outside health associates, i.e., insurance, pharmacies, etc. who are involved with the patient's plan of care
* This position will cross-train in another area within the clinic for coverage purposes
* Part-time: 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period)
* 8-hour shift, variable days (M-F)
* No weekends or St. Luke's recognized holidays
* Certification pay (ex. OCN)

Minimum qualifications for this role
* Education: Nursing Degree
* Experience: One (1) + years' RN experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross
* Required: RN license within the state of Nevada or able to obtain once hired
* Preferred: Oncology experience and/or clinic triage experience
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
* Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
* Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
* Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
* Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
* Manages care of patients.
* Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
* Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
* Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
* RN's with less than 1 year of RN experience at the time of hire into the RN position must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN
* Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, CCNE -Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education)
* Experience: 0 years' experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
