				Overview:

**0.8 FTE, 32 hrs/week, night shift, 7p-7a, every 3rd or 6th weekend, 1 holiday per year, benefits eligible**

**Must have 3 years of pediatric nursing experience, critical care preferred**

Manages nursing staff and nursing activities for an assigned department, including patient care, record-keeping, budgeting, and personnel issues. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.

Responsibilities:

* Oversees nursing and UAP staff in documentation, patient care, staffing, and clinical competencies.
* Serves as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills.
* Assists in the training and development of new and existing staff members, including performance appraisal.
* Assists in supervising clinical operations.
* Explains why clinical and financial management are important to the organization.
* Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
* Maintains safety and quality as priorities, providing auditing and education for safety and quality initiatives.
* Ensures regulatory compliance and emergency response preparedness.

Qualifications:

* Education Requirement:  BSN required.
* Licensure Requirement: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
* Certifications:  Certification preferred.
* Experience:  Three years pediatric clinical experience or equivalent combination of education/experience required
* OCCASIONALLY 1-33% OF TIME (0.5 TO 2.5 HOURS):  Bend/twist/squat/kneel, climb stairs/ladders, flexing/extending of neck, reaching above shoulder, lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs, seeing-far/near, exposed to fumes/gases/vapors, exposed to biohazard waste, exposed to loud noises.
* FREQUENTLY 34-66% OF TIME (2.6 TO 5.0 HOURS):  Sitting/Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs, depth perception-vision, exposed to blood and/or bodily fluids, exposed to chemicals/medications.
* CONTINUOUSLY 67-100% OF TIME (5.1 TO 12 HOURS OR GREATER):  Standing/walking/repetitive hand/arm usage, computer skills, lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs, audible speech, hearing acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, problem solving skills, decision making skills, interpreting data skills, work with patient equipment.
